Digital Rain for macOS · Last updated 14 September 2026
Digital Rain collects nothing, transmits nothing, and has no network access at all.
Nothing. Digital Rain does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
The app is distributed through the Mac App Store and runs in Apple's App
Sandbox with a single entitlement: com.apple.security.app-sandbox.
It holds no network entitlement, which means macOS itself prevents the app
from making any outgoing connection. It is not merely that the app chooses not
to send data — it is not permitted to.
Your preferences (colours, glyph set, speed, per-display choices and so on) are stored locally on your Mac using macOS's standard preferences system, and are read back only by Digital Rain. They never leave your computer. Deleting the app removes them.
There are none. Digital Rain contains no third-party SDKs, frameworks or services.
Digital Rain is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. Since it collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Any change that involved collecting data would also require an app update and a new App Store privacy disclosure.
