Getting started
Digital Rain lives in the menu bar. There is no Dock
icon — that is intentional.
The settings window opens by itself the first time you launch it. After
that, open it from the menu bar item or press ⌘,.
Everything is click-through: your desktop icons, right-click menus and
drag-and-drop all work exactly as before.
Common questions
I can't see it. Check that the wallpaper is switched on
in the menu bar item, and that the display you're looking at is enabled
under Settings → Displays.
It stopped moving. By design, it pauses when it's fully
covered by other windows, and in Low Power Mode. Both are switchable
under Settings → Displays and Settings → General.
My fans are loud. Lower the frame rate under
Settings → Motion. 24 or 30 fps looks nearly identical and costs a
fraction of the power.
I want my desktop picture back, behind the rain. Pull
Backdrop Opacity down under Settings → Appearance.
"Open at login" won't stay on. Quit and reopen the app
once; macOS registers the login item on first successful launch.
